Birdwatching Tour at Sri Phang Nga National Park from Khao Lak

Today was one of those birdwatching days that reminds us why we love the forest so much.

We began the morning quietly, settling into a simple bird hide deep in the greenery of Sri Phang Nga National Park. From behind the screen, patience paid off. Long lenses were raised, shutters whispered, and eyes stayed focused as birds appeared one by one—perching calmly, unaware of the excitement just a few meters away.

As the light changed, so did the rhythm of the day. We moved through forest trails, stopping often to listen before looking. Calls echoed through the trees, guiding our steps. Every pause brought something new: a sudden movement on a branch, a flash of color, a perfectly timed moment captured on camera.

Midday gave us a well-earned break. Over a relaxed lunch surrounded by nature, conversations flowed—about species seen, shots captured, and the small details that only dedicated birders notice. Cameras rested on the table, still dusty from the trail, ready for the next round.

The afternoon delivered some truly special sightings. From powerful raptors perched against a blue sky to tiny forest birds balancing on roots and branches, the diversity of Sri Phang Nga once again impressed. Some moments were fast and fleeting, others slow and almost meditative—but all of them rewarding.

This wasn’t just a tour; it was a shared experience of observation, silence, and discovery. A day filled with focus, curiosity, and genuine appreciation for Thailand’s rich birdlife.

Thank you, Muriel Schwarz and Ryszard Chudzik, for a wonderful day in the forest. We hope these moments—and the images captured—will bring back the sounds and stillness of Sri Phang Nga for years to come.
